Vatnsdæla on a tapestry

The project Vatnsdæla on a tapestry is an idea that came from Jóhanna E. Pálmadóttir, using an old method of sewing. The Tapestry depicts one of the old Icelandic Sagas – the Vatnsdæla Saga which tells of the settlement in Vatnsdalur. Work began in 2011 and the tapestry will be 46m long when it is finished. The name of every person who embroiders or supports the project will be recorded in a book that will accompany the tapestry.
