Update about the Grindavík eruption

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bjarni Benediktsson sent this message around midnight; A volcanic eruption has started on the Reykjanes Peninsula. The eruption is about 3,5 km long close to Sundhnúkar, just north of Grindavik where evacuation orders have been in place. There are no disruptions to flights to and from Iceland and international flight corridors remain open. At the same time, Icelandic Times took this image from downtown Reykjavík.

This eruption is big. We will follow closely what will happen in the next few days at Reykjanes peninsula.
