Over the years Eldhestar has developed diffrent packages which give our guests the possibility to combine a comfortable Hotel stay at our Hotel Eldhestar with experiancing the icelandic horse in its natural enviroment and its versatility.
At Eldhestar we have developed our activities since 1986 to combine pleasure, comfort and adventure in a way respecting nature. We take special pleasure in showing visitors to Iceland the unique wilderness together with the horse. Our farm is located in the heart of Iceland’s south-western countryside along Road No. 1, only 30 minutes´ drive from Reykjavík. The unique location between volcanic mountains, rivers and the ocean enables our guests to experience diverse and fascinating nature with endless meadows, rushing glacial streams, hidden valleys, lava fields, hot springs and mountains.
We offer a great variety of riding tours all year round, ranging from half day tours, day tours and combo tours to tours including 2-5 days of riding and horse trekking including 6-7 days on horseback in the Icelandic highlands with a herd of free running horses. We have up to 350 horses at our farm in the summer and 60-100 in the winter, doing our best to find the ideal horse for everyone.
Eldhestar´s Horse Show will be offered from June 1st to August 31st every day at 16:30. Groups are welcome all year round, reservation requested.
Hotel Eldhestar offers accommodation in a cozy countryside hotel with a luxurious atmosphere, featuring 26 rooms, a restaurant, conference facilities, free Wi-Fi and hot tubs. The hotel is dedicated to the Icelandic horse with colors and materials in Icelandic nature, genuine craftsmanship and old tradition inspiring the interior and was the first lodging in Iceland to receive the Nordic Swan Eco-label. We also offers accommodation in a guesthouse with shared facilities for up to 19 people.
