The Nordic House warmly welcomes you to the opening of the first exhibition of the year, Ripples: Shifting Realities in the North.
The exhibition brings together art and science in an exploration of the rapid and profound transformations taking place in the Arctic. In a time of climate change and societal shifts, it is essential to create a platform for dialogue across disciplines, cultures, and generations. Through photography, video, textiles, painting, and installation, four distinct artistic approaches are presented, where environmental science, Indigenous knowledge, and artistic imagination intersect.
At the same time, the exhibition The North opens in the children’s library. In both spaces, visitors are encouraged to reflect on the relationship between humans and nature, the cultural significance of the North, and the ethical implications of environmental change. In collaboration with schools and through a variety of events throughout the winter, the North will be explored from the perspectives of different generations and communities.
