Djúpivogur Camping ground is situated in the middle of town with a lovely view over the harbor. Everything you need is a short walk from the campsite like a grocery store, museums, café, swimming pool and a bar.
There is a 9 hole golf course close by and there are many excellent hiking tracks in and around Djúpivogur. You can also board the ferry to the island Papey which was the only place inhabited in east Iceland for centuries. Papey is Celtic and means “Friar’s Island”.
