Gerðarsafn is a gallery putting more emphasis on modern and contemporary, Icelandic art. The galley got it’s name from Gerður Helgadóttir who was a pioneer of 3D abstract art and glass art in Iceland.
Along with Icelandic art, the museum exhibits their own collection and hosts a diverse selection of international artist. They also have a large collection of work by Barbara Árnason, Magnús Á. Árnason and Valgerður Briem.
