MAGNÚS THORLACIUS: 2023 has seen nothing like it

“Refreshing sounds from the small northern Iceland” –Tonspion
“We are lucky in having discovered such a great upcoming artist” –Musicspots

Myrkvi bangs down the door of 2023 with a new single called Draumabyrjun, or Perfect Start. What seems like an audacious attempt to kick the year of is actually full of contradictions. What follows the perfect beginning? Most likely, getting stuck in the swamp of not living up to expectations. Myrkvi certainly tempts fate with this Draumabyrjun of the new year.Myrkvi is a duo from Iceland consisting of a cat-loving cozy man and an enigmatic no-bullshit guitar magician. Two indie goblins who make genuine music and enjoyed previous success as Vio.See them live at KEX Hostel on the 4th of February where they will be playing at a concert night with Ragnar Ólafsson from Árstíðir and the emerging US folk star Hayfitz.
