Nauthólsvík ocean beach might be the only heated ocean beach in the world. The beach is heated with excess geothermal water that is pumped to the man-made beach. The water reaches temperatures from 15°C to 19°C during the summer months (59°F to 66°F).
You’ll find changing facilities, showers, steam-baths and hot tubs around the beach.
Cold-water swimming is very popular among Icelanders and if you want to partake in the ocean swims, please adhere to the safety rules and swim with others more experienced.
