Sægreifinn is an all-year-around seafood restaurant in the quaint old small-boat harbor in Reykjavik. The lobster soup, considered by many to be “World’s greatest lobster soup”, and the grilled fish on skewers are their signature dishes. All fish is local and as fresh as fish can be.
As well as their fish courses, Sægreifinn also has a variety of dishes for vegetarians. Ask for their Veggie skewers.
Kjartan, the owner, started his career as a fisherman in the 50‘s to then start fish mongering directly on the docks. One day when dealing with fish a group of tourist asked if he could cook fish for them and that is the start of Sægreifinn. The rest is history.
