Rúnar Gunnarsson’s exhibition (1944) Not the blink of an eye, but eternity, just opened at the National Museum of Iceland and runs until autumn. A strong exhibition where Rúnar’s photographs capture the spirit of the times, a moment, the country’s history, when Reykjavík becomes a city, when human life becomes complex. A beautiful, well made and strong show worth seeing. After all, Rúnar is a very clever photographer. At the same time, on Veggurinn opened an exhibition of Ragnheiður Bjarnadóttir’s six photo albums, pictures that she gave to the The Cultural Center of Þingeyingar when she was about to turn a hundred years old. So it’s worth popping into the National Museum and taking a look at good old times.
