Between Sleep and Wake

“Welcome to ‘Between Sleep and Wake’, where I invite you to explore the curious world of sleep paralysis through my art. Here, you’ll find paintings that reflect the strange state
between being asleep and awake, where reality blurs and dreams feel tangible.

Each piece is my attempt to capture what it’s like to experience sleep paralysis firsthand. It’s not always pleasant; themes of isolation, fear, and loss of control often weave through the imagery. As you move from one painting to the next, you’ll notice a progression, or perhaps regression, into a kind of delirium where shapes shift and shadows loom large.

But amidst the chaos, there’s a certain beauty—a rawness that comes from confronting the subconscious. The colors I’ve chosen might seem intense, almost overwhelming, but they’re meant to draw you in, to make you feel the energy of the moment.

This exhibition isn’t just about looking at pretty pictures; it’s about delving into the depths of the mind, both mine and yours. It’s about acknowledging the strange and sometimes unsettling aspects of our own consciousness.

So, take your time, wander through the gallery, and see where the journey takes you. And who knows, maybe you’ll come out the other side with a new perspective on what it means to be awake, asleep, and somewhere in between.”
