Stefán Boulter -“New gods” in Hannesarholt

Stefán Boulter opens his art exhibition “New gods” in Hannesarholt on Grundarstigur 10,  Friday April 21st at 4-6 pm. He has chosen to classify his work as “lyrical realism. The pieces are narrative images, both personal and based on a known, ancient cultural legacy. A key element involves contemplations on archetypes, nature, our being in nature and worshipping it. Humans, animals, objects, being and their aura are foregrounded in his works. The pieces reflect spiritual and aesthetic value of art creation, manifested in each one.

Stefán Boulter (b.1970) studied graphic design in Tempe, Arizona USA in 1991-1992 and art at Instituto d‘ Arte di Firenze in Florence Italy in 1994-1996. He was an assistant to artist Odd Nerdrum in Norway and Iceland in 2001-2004.

Stefán has exhibited his paintings in museums and galleries in Iceland and abroad, held private exhibitions and joint exhibits, for example in Massachusetts USA, Barcelona Spain, Kjarvalsstaðir Reykjavík and Akureyri Art Museum.

All the pieces are for sale. The exhibit is open until May 11th and Hannesarholt is open five days a week from 11.30 am to 4 pm, every day except Sunday and Monday. (The exhibit is already up).
