Information from Víðir Reynisson, head of Civil Defence, that the eruption that began 20:23, near Grindavík this evening is the largest in this sequence of eruptions. This is the fourth eruption in that series, which started in December. The fissure is 3 km long, and the lava flows fast towards the town of Grindavík. A town of 4000 people, who all have left after the first eruption in December.
