Celebration at Árbær Open Air Museum

On December 1st, Iceland celebrates its Sovereign Day. To mark the occasion, the Árbær Open Air Museum is hosting a celebration, which will feature various cultural organizations such as the Icelandic Folk Dance Group Sporið, Accordion Enthusiast Club of Reykjavík, The Icelandic Handicraft Association, The Rímur Singers Society, and the Reykjavík Folk Dance Association.

Visitors can experience old dances, traditional handicrafts, accordions, poetry, national costumes, folk dances, folk songs, and cultural heritage through the activities and demonstrations organized by the participating organizations. Additionally, there will be micro-courses and presentations related to the themes mentioned above.

People are encouraged to attend the event dressed in any national costume. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome!
