Hjarta Reykjavíkur

Hjarta Reykjavíkur is a small family business, founded in March 2019 by the artist Jóhann Ludwig Torfason and his wife Ragnhildur Jóhann. “The store actually started with two books,” says Jóhann, who had published two books with drawings of houses in the center of Reykjavík, “The Heart of Reykjavík” and “Dear Laugavegur”, which shows all the houses that stand on that good street. Then we got this crazy idea, to start a shop around a book, but the product range has since steadily increased. Most of the products are designed and manufactured in the store itself, because it is also a studio, printed on cups, glass mats and so on with a method called in English Dye Sublimation, but because of this the company’s products are not mass-produced as they are mostly handmade on site. .
